Tenchi Maru is so powerful the winds of change can not touch him and thus has never changed.

When the Maru Dojo was invaded during the Draconian wars golems walked along the sea bed and assaulted the Dojo. It is said that Tenchi himself took down a dozen golems single handed. This resulted in Tenchi’s leg being crippled for a time and he walked with a cane.
