In Narovo, news has spread that the new and powerful Parthan Chieftain has somehow come into possession of a powerful artifact which endlessly creates fresh-water. There is little doubt that this is the same artifact which The Great Red Dragon, known as Hepsoveur, stole from the Gypsies over a month ago. How it came to be in the possession of this Chieftain remains a mystery. The Chieftain’s use of this artifact is gaining him a great deal of notoriety from the desert tribes, and has given him a strong place at the negotiating table when dealing with the less tractable Parthan Prides.

Yet even without the artifact he would still have the attention of the tribes, for rumors indicate that he has been proposing a bold plan to unite the tribes for the purpose of freeing them from the taxation and authority of the throne of Narovo, and demanding that recompense be paid to the Parthan Prides in return for the levies and funds which the crown has been extracting for so many generations.

The Kingdom of Falconcrest is marshaling a number of its forces for a potential march into Narovo, but no soldiers have been sent as of yet. The specific duties bestowed by Emperor Gnaeus Bestia Nos Validus appointing King Aleric as Provisional Praetorian Guard Terath are less than fully clear, and the looming potential involvement of the greater Ebran army in what would otherwise be an internal national conflict has turned the political and military situation into a much more dangerous and nebulous affair.

At the same time, the kingdom of Falconcrest has signed over a dozen contracts with its own legionnaires, preparing to send Falconcrest mercenary forces into an extended engagement in Hadrianus in order to render aid against the rising tide of Briar Beasts and Vine Horrors.

The chaos caused by the Red Dragon, as well as a score of other minor threats throughout Terath, have caused need for additional forces to be sent both near and far, stretching both Westerland and Falconcrest very thin. There is great concern in many corners of Terath that the Praetorian Guards will not be able to defend the land from any additional threats, should they arise in the near future.

Frightened chatter has come pouring out of Citadel, the capital city of Falconcrest. Reports indicate that some form of attack has taken place, although the reports are conflicted. The first rumors suggested that the Great Dragon Hepsoveur had attacked the Falconcrest Palace, but more recent word hints at a much more insidious threat involving necromantic or even Abyssal powers.

Strong speculation suggests that The Kingdom of The Night has chosen to move against Falconcrest while their forces are spread out across Terath, while others have begun pointing fingers in the direction of Ebrus and King West. Through it all, however, one dark name resurfaces again and again as having orchestrated the ordeal: that of Gregory Telgahf.

Adding fuel to the fears of the people are reports that a powerful demon appeared in Haven. It is said that after laying waste to a nearby military outpost, it vanished, leaving its minions to continue the slaughter until they were pushed back.

Forces from The Kingdom of Falconcrest have marched into Hadrianus and taken up the fight against the horde of monstrous plant creatures which have begun to pour down from the mountains. Their target is the valley of writhing briars which has supposedly served as a breeding ground for these creatures, and thus far their efforts have been very well executed.

Both Falconcrest and Westerland have asked Hadrianus, as well as other kingdoms, to provide additional funding for the many simultaneous enforcement and protection efforts currently taking place throughout Terath. Their forces are becoming so thinly spread that reacting to any serious threat would be nearly impossible at this point.

In Narovo, the Ebran soldiers sent by King West have surrounded capital of Narovo and have refused to allow any military forces to leave the city. The Ebran diplomats have claimed that this severe violation of Narovo’s sovereignty is serving to keep the peace, preventing a bloody conflict between Narovo’s official leaders and the leaders of the Parthan Prides which live in the deeper desert.

In effect, the blockade has allowed the most war-like of the desert tribes to rally together and form into a powerful military force of their own without fear of interference from the standing military forces stationed in the city. This has caused a fair amount of concern that an eventual conflict between the city and the tribes will only be more catastrophic now that the tribes have begun to unite.

The small hamlet on the border of Falconcrest and The Kingsland, known as Kurnden’s Creek, has been swelling with numbers over the past few weeks. Over three score clamoring voices have been added to the rallying cries demanding justice against the Great Red Dragon, and the hamlet itself has turned into a small war camp.

Rumor has it that the force located there will begin the long march into DragonHeld at the beginning of the Month, yet it is still unclear what action will be taken by these brave souls in order to bring the Great Dragon to justice.

News has spread like wildfire since last night, when the rallying hamlet of Kurden’s Creek was burned to the ground by the Great Red Dragon Hepsoveur.

Located on the border of Falconcrest and The Kingslands, the hamlet had served as a rallying point for those who planned on taking a personal hand in fighting back against the attacks of the Great Dragon, but is now little more than a smoking ruin.

Stories claim that Hepsoveur landed in the camp in the dead of night, pouring dragonfire over the sprawling camp as he roared with terrible draconic laughter. The dragon is said to have burned and trampled the temporary structures of the camp almost playfully, devouring who were foolish enough to try and strike against the great beast directly.

Over the past month, the small following dedicated to the enigmatic ‘Enlightened One’ has steadily grown in number. Though ignored by many, they freely offer help and aid to any who seem to be in need, most recently appearing at remnants of Kurden’s Creek.

No one is entirely sure who this Enlightened One is or what their motives are, but many eyes have turned to Rezport, the city from which he is said to come from.

Two small fortresses, one in the King’s Lands and one in Hadrianus, have been attacked by mercenary forces from Myzentius. Word has spread that these mercenaries have been hired by Lord Castigan, voice of The Great Red Dragon Hepsoveur, and are demanding tribute in the Great Dragon’s name.

The Myzentians have proclaimed that this tribute must be handed over immediately if the denizens of these fortresses do not wish for Hepsoveur to come burn the fortresses to the ground, and it seems that there is little choice but to either pay or be destroyed.

Whispers in shadowed corners speak of another attack by the The Great Red Dragon, Hepsoveur. The stories claim that a bastion of power, belonging to the undead alliance known as The Kingdom of The Night, was sundered and set aflame.

This bastion, an eldritch ruin deep within the remnants of mythical Ku’Vahl, was rumored to have been attacked and pillaged by the Great Dragon. The spreading whispers hint that many dark and powerful treasures were lost, and that a considerable number of the citizens of this frightening necrotic Kingdom were destroyed utterly.

The Parthan Tribes which have rallied in the deserts of Narovo have begun to march towards Severius, the capital city of Narovo. There is no question that the Parthan Tribes have the advantage of both numbers and combat experience, making them more than a match for the soldiers stationed in the city. In addition, the layout of the capital is such that it would be difficult to offer a serious challenge. Already there are rumors of people beginning to flee south, running in fear of the Parthan and their new Chief, known only as Lord Firefoot.

Lord Firefoot and his Parthan warchiefs have met with King Kazan III of Narovo, and his ruling council. Ebran representatives were in attendance as well, claiming to serve as ‘peacekeepers’, but there is little doubt that they would side with the Parthans against King Kazan III if it came to bloodshed.

Lord Firefoot has demanded that the official government of Narovo provide great tribute to the Parthan Tribes in recompense for past wrongs, and that a great change must occur in the ruling structure of the Kingdom.

Most ambitious of all his demands are that the Parthan Tribes will no longer be taxed or ruled by what he calls “over-privileged humans or greedy dwarves”, but rather that tribute and respect will henceforth flow from the cities into the desert. The Lords and Ladies may keep their titles, for Firefoot does not seek to claim a crown or throne, but he demands that the fate of Narovo be in the hands of the Parthan Tribes.

It is unclear what methods are being used to communicate with the armies in Verath, but news floods back with claims that the majority of the fighting has suddenly stopped. It seems that the armies of the Pale Ones have dealt many devastating blows against the armies of Terath. Losses were high. But then, without much warning, the enemy forces were pulled from the field of battle in a mass retreat.

Some claim that this represents a great victory for the united forces of Verath and Terath, but most feel it is an ominous sign, at best. The enemy did not slink away in defeat; this move was tactical. Even counting the number of lives that have been spared by the halt in battle, all but the most optimistic cannot help but feel that something terrible is coming.

The Myzentian Mercenaries which serve Lord Castigan and The Great Red Dragon Hepsoveur have claimed tribute in the Dragon’s name in nearly a dozen places over the last few weeks.

Most recently, a Lord of a small castle in Westerland was the first to refuse to pay this tribute, relying on his high walls to keep the mercenaries at bay, and likely hoping that his own weath was small enough that the Dragon would not be willing to trouble himself to claim it.

His hopes proved fatal, however. The Great Dragon attacked the castle in the red light of dusk yesterday. The Lord, his family, his personal retinue, and a score of others were slaughtered in the assault. Dozens more were injured, and the tallest towers of the castle were reduced to slag by DragonFire.

The dragon then proceeded to fly over the nearby farms and hamlets, setting the towns and fields ablaze.

Diplomats and military officers from all across Terath are on their way to the Broken City to discuss the problem of The Great Red Dragon Hepsoveur. Thus far, none of the great cities have come under direct threat, but the Dragon has nonetheless shown himself to be a danger and a menace to nearly all the kingdoms of Terath. And yet it seems that, with the greatest warriors and mages of the land still fighting across the sea in Verath, there is little that can be done.

As political rivalries are temporarily set aside during this time of turmoil, rumors indicate that the Steward of Rhoum has given a priceless gift to the Kingdom of The Night, as a gesture of goodwill. Many are surprised that the Steward, a White Knight of Falconcrest, would be willing to make such overt gestures of friendship towards a group of necromantic creatures. This poses new questions about the place of The Kingdom of The Night in Terath; the political implications are scandalous, to say the least.

Talks between Firefoot’s Parthan and the ruling council of Narovo are speeding forward, as the official rulers of Severius City begin to crumble before the demands of the Parthan. Last night, many from the city claim to have heard the sound of a roaring dragon off in the distance, and some have begun to suspect that Firefoot has made an alliance with the Great Red Dragon Hepsoveur. People in the city have begun to demand that the ruling council meet the demands of the Parthan, for fear that refusal would put them in a fight against not only Ebrus & Firefoot, but against the Great Dragon as well.

In other parts of Terath, word has begun to spread regarding an organization known only as ‘Silver Sword Ventures’. Lords, merchants, labor guilds, mercenaries, and those others who traffic in large amounts of coin have found themselves approached by representatives of Silver Sword Ventures for a variety of mercantile contracts ranging from expansion of irrigation to dangerous missions wiping out nests of monsters.

A small sect of cultists were slain in Akeron recently, after attempting to summon up some kind of terrible dark spirit. These cultists were apparently devoted servants of the now-defeated ‘Seer of Akeron’ and had recently raided the Ruins of Kuh’Vahl in order to claim the magical resources that were required to initiate this summoning.

The cultists were discovered, confronted, and slain by a group of heroic adventurers that hail from a small town in Ebrus known as The Lamora Outpost. It is rumored that one of the warriors of this adventuring band, a brave man known as Tavren Kalas, held off the terrible spirit single-handedly while the rest of his companions fought the cultists, ended the summoning ritual, and eventually claimed the coffers of the sect as their reward.
