Participant@anjiRumors of destruction and mayhem in the northeast spread like lightning across the continent. A series of explosions has rocked the coastal regions in the north of Chindius.
Pigeons fly across Terath from the Hadrian capital ship, carrying only one message:
Typhon’s armies are upon us. Ethlinspire has fallen.
Missives from the embattled area claim that the elven city-state has sunk beneath the waves.

Keymaster@herogoethIn the wake of the devastation in Ethlinspire, news of a massing army on the northern border of The King’s Lands has become the dire topic of conversation throughout the northern and central kingdoms of Terath.
Military forces stationed in King’s Lands have suddenly come under attack by a growing horde of monstrous creatures streaming across the borders of Narovo, and crawling up from the waters which have submerged the kingdom of the elves. The invading army has begun an assault against numerous watch towers and defensive garrisons meant to protect the north-most territories.
While this horde of beasts and monsters is not yet great enough to present a true threat to the kingdom as a whole, reports claim that additional tribes of monstrous creatures seem to be answering Typhon’s call by the hour; joining the terrifying force as it begins its dreadful march south.

Participant@anjiTerath has long shouldered the weight of political schism and turmoil. Civil strife has kept us divided, but the time for such machinations has passed. War is upon all of us–friends and allies have already lost everything. Unless we stand together, our strength will falter and fail us.
Monsters, betrayers, and the earth itself are arrayed against us. If you have never been brave, now is the time to find your courage. If you have never raised a weapon or channeled a spell, now is the time to champion good in defense of your homes, your families, and your countries. If you have never been a soldier, you are now a soldier.
We call you to arms, Terath. For Narovo, and Ethlinspire, and all the honorable fallen who have died in our defense. To arms!

Keymaster@herogoethThe ever-growing armies of Typhon continue to gather in the North, moving South and West in what appears to be a relentless march toward The Broken City, the once capital of the now shattered empire of Terath.
Duke Vendracis has given orders to the local nobility in the northern King’s Lands to marshal their forces and gather all available militia to be organized for the greater defense of the nation.
In its wake, the monstrous force leaves a great swath of destruction, which has caused a number of lesser nobles to ignore the commands of the Duke, leading small forces of their own into direct conflict with the army of monsters in hopes of protecting their endangered homes. Thus far, such attempts have resulted in the near-total annihilation of the defending militia; only serving to slow the encroaching army by a day or two at most.
Reports indicate that military forces from The Kingdom of Falconcrest, and mercenary bands loyal to King Akida of Myzentius have begun working in cooperation with Duke Vendracis to protect his people. These additional scouts and mercenaries have primarily served to aid in evacuations, or to exterminate small bands of monstrous creatures before they have the opportunity to join the greater mass of the army.
To add tension and danger to a situation which is already turning dire – naval officers and seaside scouts have reportedly sighted small formations of great sharks swimming alongside grotesque bipedal sea-creatures near The Great Bay in Westerland and Vallis Bay in Hadrianus. There is little doubt that these fiends are servants of The Father of Monsters.

Keymaster@herogoethAs forces rally throughout the King’s Lands the army of Typhon marches ever closer to The Broken City; now only a day or two away from clashing with the main forces which have been arrayed to do battle with The Father’s Horde. Rumors claim that Rhoum The Peacebringer and Maria Pretia of Chindius have been heading up the majority of the efforts to rouse Terath’s many nations, and while there are certainly those who are dedicated to the cause of resisting the Father of Monsters, it seems that many of the kingdoms are focusing their attentions inward on their own defenses rather than moving to protect the lands ruled by Duke Vendracis.
The Duke’s advisers have convinced Vendracis to stay off the field of battle, and whispers within the Broken City claim that this caution is due to some prophecy or foretelling received by Duke Vendracis or his councilors. There are those within The Broken City who have begun to spread word that the city’s own doom has been prophesied, which has caused panic and minor rioting in the poorer districts. The rumors may very well be true, as it has recently been announced that Lord Knight Jacen Yabesh, legendary White Knight and hero of The King’s Lands, will lead the army himself, while the Duke remains behind the city walls.

Participant@anjiNews from the southern coast of Akeron returns rumors that the Hadrian 5th fleet, which had been defending the coast of the nation at the behest of the Sons of Akeron, became mired in a conflict with both the aquatic forces of Typhon as well as the Seer’s marines. The situation was dire until another armada commanded by Admiral Idris Vestrit appeared from the east to give aid to the faltering warships. It appears that for the first time in many years, the flag of Southwatch flies on the southern seas.

Keymaster@herogoethThe once-prosperous merchant kingdom of Akeron has suffered greatly since the Draconic Domination. First, an assault by dragons destroyed much of the kingdom’s infrastructure, melting glass towers into slag, scattering the people to the winds, and leaving the living nobility in tatters. Into this chaos came a man – none yet know from where – claiming to be a prophet. This “Seer”, blinded with cloth, and carrying a staff, preyed upon the people’s hopes in those difficult times. Promising immortality, or even a view of loved ones long gone, this man demonstrated a terrible and undeniable mastery over life and death. Eliminating those that refused adherence to his ethos, and dominating many powerful undead creatures into his service, this “Seer” has called upon unforgivable darkness and built a kingdom of death disguised with the promise of life.
To The Seer of AkeronKnow that your time is nigh, and your reign is at an end. Terath stands united against you.
Surrender, and we shall see you judged with mercy. Wage war with us, and we will end your tyranny with your life.

Participant@anjiThat we are in desperate times can no longer be doubted. The civilizations that can adapt and overcome adversity are the ones that inevitably survive; however, sometimes the old ways can lend stability and support in an ongoing struggle.
Admiral Idris Vestrit was once the most respected naval officer in Terath, favored by Queen Octavia herself. He has lately been forging his own path, but the defense of Terath has always been his goal. Now that we must call upon his ability, experience, and courage in defense of our nations once again, it is imperative that he have the resources he needs to wage a large-scale naval defense of the southern and western coasts.
To that end, I, Embla Vanir, Queen of Hadrianus and High Queen of Terath, cede the lands taken by Hadrianus in defense of the continent back to the country of Southwatch. I name and formally recognize Idris Vestrit as King of Southwatch and grant to him all the powers and resources that kingship bestows.
Members of the Golden Company and the Black Fleet will be granted amnesty for their piracy if they immediately swear citizenship to King Vestrit and turn their vessels to the defense of Westerland, Akeron, Haven and Southwatch. Those who do not take this opportunity, or turn over their vessels and swear fealty to another ruler, will be treated to harsh and immediate punishment.
All hail the king!

Participant@chriswFighting on the Northern front has begun in earnest as combined forces from Myzentius, Hadrianus, The King’s Land, Falconcrest, and Chindius pit themselves against the raging Horde of Typhon. Yet even as these armies clash, it is clear that there will not be a single great battle to determine the outcome. As troops maneuver and supplies filter in toward both sides, even the most optimistic military councilors predict that the campaign against The Father of Monsters will be an extended matter.
In the South the forces from Haven, Westerland, Hadrianus, Falconcrest, Ebrus, Chindius, and the newly reborn kingdom of Southwatch have gathered to address the growing threat presented by the Seer of Akeron. These nations have scrambled to muster their forces with great haste in the wake of the discovery that The Seer has made plans to exploit any weakness shown during the campaign against Typhon. It is clear that The Seer must be removed from power without delay, lest the trouble he creates in the south turn into a dire concern during the ongoing war with the northern horde.

Participant@xukkuthManeuvering in the North has led the Horde of Typhon past the Broken City, and to the shock of all, it seems that the army of monsters intends to bypass the city altogether, continuing a wretched rampage throughout the King’s Lands rather than engaging in a siege. The combined forces of Terath have re-engaged with the horde in another pitched battle, hoping to prevent the horrid creatures from marching across the kingdom unchallenged.
Along with this revelation, terrible news begins to drift from the battlefield to the many corners of Terath – Lord Knight Jacen Yabesh, heroic commander of the unified forces, has gone missing. His command tent was burned to the ground in the dead of the night, his guards were slaughtered, and a trace of sulfur in the air is the only hint as to the nature of his attackers.
In the panic and chaos that has resulted from the loss of the iconic hero, Duke Vendracis has decided to ignore the previous advice of his councilors; stepping forth to lead his forces into battle himself. After careful consideration and much debate, Maria Pretia of Chindius has been appointed to administer the affairs of the Broken City in the Duke’s absence.

Moderator@steveIn the weeks since the defeat of the Seer the people of Akeron have begun to rebuild their once proud nation. While there is debate to decide how the country should proceed with no known heir to the Briseus line, the merchant lords of Akeron have united under Lord Bort Bitterbeer to help organize and stabilize the kingdom. There are also rumors that he has begun an official search for any survivors of the Briseus bloodline.
During this time many powerful and influential individuals have traveled to the city of Briseus to participate in the debates and lend aid to the nation. Most notable among them is the affluent and influential Lord Edward dan Brock of Falconcrest.
While there are those who feel that Lord dan Brock abandoned Akeron when he swore fealty to Falconcrest after the Seer rose to power and the draconic domination of Terath took place, none dispute reports that most of the funds for rebuilding the ruined nation are coming from his personal coffers.

Participant@mythic-realms“They” first appeared at the marketplaces and bazaars of Kings Landing, Chindius and Narovo. They bring with them strange and exotic goods. They were sharp traders and quickly worked their way into the attention of the largest merchant families. When asked where they were from, they would smile and say Rezport, and gesture up the river and towards the mountains that lay between the three nations. This was a curious thing to the citizens of these nations as no one had ever heard of a Rezport or any other city of a size that these people claimed.
Referencing maps confirmed that no such city currently exists or have ever existed anywhere, in those mountains or anywhere else on this continent, though there are old crumbling maps that seem to suggest that perhaps there was a large city once nestled in those mountains but has long been destroyed and lay in ruins.
Then the reports from old miners and villagers arrived. They speak of a city like nothing ever heard of before, nestled at the foot of the mountains and laying on the shore of a large river. They detail a city filled with all types of creatures, humans and elves, both dark and light skinned, trolls and ogres, catfolk and dwarves, and several other species which have not been seen before, all living with one another (though by all indications not necessarily peacefully).
OOG: Rezport (the city’s name) is a fantasy based nior-esqe plot ran by Kacy Grimes and Bethany Wilhelmsen (and friends). Players will experience “who-dunit” story-line on the mean city streets of Rezport. Trench-coats and Fedoras are encouraged, but not necessary.

Participant@anjiPeople of Terath,
Two nights ago, the main contingent of the King’s Lands faced a horde of trolls, orcs and goblins near the disputed southern border. They fought admirably, and for a time we felt victory was assured. Then the very ground gave way beneath them. I have never seen many of the monsters that spilled from the depths to flank our forces; perhaps they have come to the surface for the first time. Their leader was one of Typhon’s greatest heralds, Orthrus, who is invulnerable to physical or magical attack.
Duke Christopher Vendracis recognized the dire circumstances, but chose to remain with a small company to stave off the onslaught while the rest of the troops withdrew to regroup. I led the relief army out of Akeron, but while we were successful in driving Orthrus away we could not do so in time to prevent the slaughter of Vendracis’ men. In the end, he proved to all that his courage was steadfast. He saved countless lives that day, by meeting his fate without wavering.
His body lies in state in Rhoum, where the fighting elite of each nation hold vigil for him. We fight on, and respect his sacrifice. Today is a day of mourning.

Moderator@steve(OOG – Beginning at noon today, Terath began to experience earthquakes occurring every 5-10 minutes. The vast majority are small tremors, sometimes so slight they are barley noticeable. Every few hours though, there will be one strong enough to topple shelves and other small objects. This will continue until further notice.)
December 21, 2012 at 12:16 pm #46013Steve
Moderator@steveOver the last 24 hours the earthquakes have completely ceased, and word has spread of a great victory against the Father of Monsters. The army of Falconcrest, led by General Galathule, has defeated one of Typhon’s Heralds.
There are also reports that as the battle begun, the Orcs and Parhan fighting for Typhon turned against their monstrous masters, seeming to wake after a long sleep. After the battle, it is said that some of the Parthan heard something ‘calling’ them and began to journey north, though it is not known how many.
While the main force of the Herald’s army was routed, many of the Orcs and Parthan continued to pursue and fight the remaining forces as they fell back. Some rumors even say at times the Orcs and Parthan would trade blows with each other before continuing to take the fight to their common foe.

Moderator@steveAs the Winterfest celebrations come to a close, news spreads like wildfire that Typhon has attacked. An army of Naga and Lizardmen rose from the Bay of Longing in the pre-dawn hours to begin an assault on Chindius, marching toward the Capital of Pretia.
Not long after, reports will circulate that a force of Goblins, Ogres, and Drakes have descended from the mountains that boarder Ebrus and Westerland, heading toward Titanus.
With in an hour of this, a call to arms is raised in Akeron. Giant sea serpents have appeared in the Bay of Hope and and are cutting a swath of destruction as they solidify their control of the area.
