In response to the High Queen ordering the Rhouman Guard to take position on the Queensland’s side of Falconcrest’s northern boarder, King Galathule has ordered Falconcrest’s military forces to mobilize. Due to Falconcrest’s military being uncommonly small compared to other kingdoms, many speculate that King Galathule will soon call for the nobility of Falconcrest to supplement its number with their personal forces.

Some even believe he will go so far as to mobilize the Guild, as the mages, warriors and mercenaries affiliated with the Guild can be called to arms to fight for Falconcrest in times of need. Though the Range Guard is not a military force and is normally exempt from being called to fight with the military, there are rumors that the King will order Marshal Greystone to fall into the military chain of command until the situation is resolved.

Many also wonder about the force led by Prince Eric and Captain Boji Smash that were sent south into Haven. With them being recalled, their southern ally will face the possibility of increased raids from the barbarian clans of Hadrianus. Though no one in Falconcrest likes the idea of leaving an ally in a time of need, those forces will be critical if the High Queen orders there Guard to march into Falconcrest.

Despite recent diplomatic appeals from King Vol of Haven, there has been a sudden spike in the number of violent barbaric raids against minor settlements in Haven during recent weeks. Emissaries from Haven have appealed for intervention from the court of High Queen Embla, claiming that this new swarm of raiders from the east actually represents a concealed military effort orchestrated by Great Clan NightWolf of Hadrianus. But while evidence supports that these raids are indeed being carried out by Hadrian warriors, Great Clan NightWolf has maintained their stance that these are independent actors, wild folk beyond the reach of their control. As such, it seems that the High Queen is unlikely to intervene. In response, some rumors have suggested that King Vol of Haven, High Wizard of The Rhouman Guard, has now travelled to Citadel City to meet with King Gildrandir of Falconcrest, in hopes of requesting substantial military aid from Haven’s closest ally.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of Falconcrest military forces are still actively deployed on their northern border, and at the same time, recent rumors speak of some kind of bloody skirmish occuring not far from the SkyWood Grove, close to a border juncture between Falconcrest, Haven, and Myzentius.

Word is spreading that there was an altercation between the Falconcrest Range Guard and the forces of the High Queen encamped on Falconcrest’s northern boarder. Many question why the Range Guard, a force Falconcrest claims does not leave its borders, moved north into the Queensland’s if not for some kind of military action. Adding complication to the matter are the whispers that this was a sneak attack, as the Range Guard encountered the Rhouman Guard during a period where a thick fog concealed the Range Guards movements.

Many attribute the lack of bloodshed to be due to the efforts of the Range Guard Captain that lead the force and Lord Knight Jacen Yabish. Though the Lord Knight is not a member of the Rhouman Guard, he was present during the encounter due to meeting with Grand Marshal Vorhil’il Celestion earlier that day.

It is said he cooled the tempers of the startled soldiers, and was able to negotiate the peaceful withdrawal of the Rang Guard. Though all are happy no lives were lost, many question what the High Queen’s response will be to this latest event.

Tensions remain high between the High Queen and Falconcrest. With the Rhouman guard still camped on the Queen’s Lands side of Falconcrest’s northern border, many worry fighting could break out at any moment. While most believe the recent border crossing made by the Range Guard was indeed unintentional, this has led to speculation that fighting may be unavoidable. With King Galathule and the people of Falconcrest unwilling to back down, it may only be a matter of time before the kingdom is at war.

Though looking bleak, there is a sliver of hope for those working to avoid war. It is said that Lord Knight Jacen Yabish and Lady Maria Pretia have been working with the High Queen to convey a counsil of rulers. Rumor has it that they want to bring the leaders of the Kingdoms of Terath together and bring this current situation to a peaceful resolution. Some rumors even say that they are looking to create a framework of some kind to better address conflicts between Kingdoms so they do not escalate to armed conflict.

In response to the high tensions between the Kingdoms of Terath, the High Queen has formally called for a council of the rulers. While many are hopeful that direct dialogue between the rulers will help ease the current tensions, some wonder if there is not a secondary objective to this council as the High Queen has never shied away from inviting the rulers of Terath to speak with her in person. Adding weight to the proceedings are reports that Lord Knight Jacen Yabish has delivered the formal invitations personally to each of Terath’s rulers. Though the High Queen has called the council, the Lord Knight has been asked to act as its host. This detail has led the more politically savvy to contemplate the implications of Lord Xefrom Greymoore, the Steward of Rhoum, not acting as the host.

While the oath he swore upon becoming the Steward did not require he surrender his citizenship of the Kingdom of Falconcrest, it does require he place his duties as the Steward above those of his home Kingdom. While his character as the Steward has thus far been impeachable, his deep friendship with King Gilrandir Galathule may present complications if he were to act as host. Many speculate that he has asked the Lord Knight to act as host to ensure that there is no appearance of favoritism or conflict of interest.

This heightened scrutiny has also led some to believe that perhaps the Lord Knight’s recent political activities may have began as a request from the Lord Steward, who was not able to directly act himself. Whatever the cause of the Lord Knight’s involvement though, none object to his hosting this Council of Rulers.

While previous councils have had significant time between being announced and actually taking place, this council has been set to take place at the end of the month. Adding weight to the belief that many (if not all) of the rulers of Terath find the current political situation in need of a swift resolution.

The Council of Kingdoms has become a formal organization. Though the rulers themselves need not be present and many of delegated the right to represent their kingdoms to ambassadors or nobility.

The purpose of the council is to work through difficult political situations without the need to marshal troops. Any member of the council can propose a resolution, and a simple majority of the kingdoms must be in favor of it for it to pass.

Though historically the Ethlin Isles were not part of the Terathian ruling structure (being considered more like an independent allied kingdom), they have formally become one of the Kingdoms of Terath under the authority of the High monarch and joined the council.

To date, the most notable of the resolutions brought to the council are:

1 – To prevent warmongering, Falconcrest is required to allow 3 military advisors appointed by the council to observe in their military meetings.
                Proposed by the Queen’s Lands
Outcome – Successful. The Queen’s Lands, Akeron and Hadrianus will each appoint an advisor to observe.

                Kingdoms in Favor:
                Queen’s Lands
                Chindius
                Hadrianus
                Myzantius
                Akeron
                Haven

                Kingdoms Opposed:
                Falconcrest
                Westerland
                Ebrus
                Ethlin
                Narovo

                Kingdoms abstained:
                None

2 – Official condemnation of Hadrianus for the attacks on Haven by marauding Hadrian groups
Proposed by King Vol of Haven
                Outcome – Failed

                Kingdoms in Favor:
                Haven
                Falconcrest
                Chindius

                Kingdoms Opposed:
                Ebrus
                Ethlin
                Hadrianus
                Queen’s Lands
                Westerland

                Kingdoms abstained:
                Akeron (citing conflicts of interest)
                Myzantius (citing conflicts of interest)

Word has spread of an increase in the number and ferocity of Werewolf attacks across Terath. With the most recent full moon only a few days ago, rumors abound of entire townships wiped out by abnormally powerful werewolves. Though groups like the Argent Tide seek to hunt down and keep the beasts in check, they have insufficient numbers and strength to have proactively dealt with the threat.

Tavern talk is dominated by rumors the even though the full moon has passed, many of these werewolves remain in their hybrid bestial forms and continue to wreck havoc across the country side.

The Argent Tide has put out a call for the aid of powerful adventurers and skilled weaponsmiths to help them encounter this threat.

                    Villainy most foul!

Reports of a large clan Nightwolf raid deep into Haven have started to spread. The druids of the Skywood Grove, working with the aid of Falconcrest, prepared a large amount of relief supplies for the people of Haven who bore the brunt of the Clan Nightwolf raids.

Falconcrest worked with the Druids and escorted the supplies to the border, and handed them off to a group of Vol’s Elite to take them to where they were most needed. Less than an hour after the handoff, the raiders of Clan Nightwolf emerged from hiding and attacked. They defeated the guards and took all of the supplies.

It is said they quickly moved east, crossing the border back into Hadrianus before any of Haven’s military forces could pursue.

                      Retaliation!

In response to Clan Nightwolf’s recent large raid into Haven, a group from Falconcrest crossed into Hadrianus and destroyed a Clan Nightwolf fortress. It is thought that the raiders many have passed through the fortress on their way back from the raid.

The speed and ferocity of the attack was such that Clan Nightwolf was unable to mount sufficient defense, and the fortress quickly fell. Once it was in possession of the attackers, any prisoners were released and allowed to flee and the fortress was burned to the ground.

The attackers then returned to Falconcrest and presented themselves to Guild leadership in Adwine’s Crossing. It seems that these men and women were all members of the Falconcrest Guild who were enhanced by a new substance commonly referred to as ‘The Sap’.

It is believed that both Lord Han Iberrico and Sage Manyhome spent days in deliberation in an attempt to determine what to do next. While there has been no word from either Hadrianus or the Broken City about this, many are concerned that this is the quiet before the storm.

In the end, Lord Iberrico ordered them to Citadel so that Prince Eric could speak with them, and ultimately determine their fates.

                        Adwine’s Crossing has fallen.

In a surprise attack, Clan Nightwolf’s forces quickly overcame the town’s defenders. Though it hasn’t been confirmed, many suspect that the attacking forces were bolstered by soldiers enhanced with the same “Sap” that granted strength to Falconcrest’s forces.

They also were armed with weapons and armor that negated magic, giving them a clear advantage over the defenders. Especially considering that Adwine’s Crossing is where the Falconcrest Mages guild kept its headquarters, so the defenders relied heavily on magic.

Preliminary reports indicate that Sage Reginald Manyhome, the leader of Falconcrest’s Mages Guild died in the attack. While he initially assisted in the defense, he acted quickly and focused on evacuating the civilian population of the town.

It is unclear what his current state is, but there are enough reports of seeing him aiding evacuees throughout the attack that many believe he did come through a circle of life.

Though there are still many unknowns, what is known is that one of Falconcrest’s strongholds has fallen. Giving Clan Nightwolf a launching point to continue attacking Falconcrest, or turn south and begin raiding a previously inaccessible part of Haven.

                            Peace has prevailed!

The people of Terath let out a collective sigh of relief as the announcement of a peaceful resolution is made.

Queen Khadia of Hadrianus has ordered her champion, Faernil the Feared to withdraw his forces from Adwine’s Crossing, and surrender the city back to Falconcrest.

While the people of Falconcrest join together in the relief of an avoided war, there is a lingering sense of dissatisfaction with the resolution, and the price paid.

The previous council of rulers dictated that Falconcrest must have advisors appointed by the council in their war room, to ensure that warmongering was advised against.

That has been amended, and now the advisors must not only be present, but they must be fully briefed on all military matters. Not only this, but they have the ability to stop military actions that would entail sending forces across Kingdom borders.

Prior to this being decided, there were many days of contentious debate in the Broken City. At the end of the council though, the votes were as follows:

                            For:
                            Hadrianus
                            Akeron
                            Myzantius
                            Queen’s Lands
                            Chindius
                            Narovo
                            Ebrus
                            Ethlin

                            Against:
                            Falconcrest
                            Westerland
                            Haven

Surprising many were the For votes cast by Ebrus and Ethlin. It is said that they argued vehemently against this resolution up until the last day of deliberations.

Both nations have historically taken an opposing stance to any policy that might reduce their autonomy or set a precedent that could be used against them in the future. It is unclear what caused theme to change their votes, but when the time to cast votes came both Kingdoms voted in the affirmative.

The advisors chosen for this duty were appointed by Hadrianus and Akeron as the nations that pushed for this resolution. Queen Khadia has already chosen her Champion, Faernil the Feared to be their advisor. Akeron has not yet chosen, but indicated their choice would be made as quickly as possible.

                              Open rebellion in Hadrianus!

Ragnar Tallcastle, one of the former champions of Hadrianus has declared Queen Khadia a puppet of the Legion forces from across the sea and unfit to sit on the throne.

He has rallied many to his cause and now leads an open rebellion against her. They have taken a few of the key military strongholds in northern Hadrianus, and have started attacking into the heart of Clan Nightwolf’s territory.

The Queen has labeled him as a traitor, as the Great Moot determines the ruler of Hadrianus, and she was named its winner.

Though High Queen Embla calls on both sides to cease fighting it seems that neither side is interested in diplomacy at this point. Many worry that the fighting will spread beyond the Hadrian boarders and that this is the spark that will ignite long dormant tensions between the kingdoms of Terath.
