    Ladies and gentlemen

As we’ve been discussing at Firesides and Open Houses lately, we have a new policy that is gradually coming into effect regarding the playing of multiple characters. We need your designations for existing characters by Winterfest.

In an effort to keep raising the bar for personal plot nods of the head and writing scenarios of special interest to the contemporary adventurers, we require that

If you want to play multiple characters that are just fine*. One must be designated your Primary character to the Plot Team, by sending a message to mythicplot@gmail.com. The other(s) should be designated Secondary and Teritiary

(*Existing Rules allow for up to 3 Active characters.)

Please know that this isn’t meant as a punishment or a restriction. Indeed, we will continue to support players who frequently or with rarity play multiple characters at once, and Secondary, (and even) Tertiary, characters will receive similar treatment to Primary characters. But when we volunteers have to prioritize like Training, Yearly Storylines, and even Special Missions we’ll choose to make your Primary character first, as we will when writing Challenges, Treasure, and Encounter Cards.

We understand that you may wish to change character primacy Designations over long periods of time due to interest or need to alter this designation when a character embraces Retirement or faces bitter Obliteration. For now, requests to change designation will be handled on a case-by-case basis by consulting the Plot Head. Please notify mythicplot@gmail.com if you want to request a designation change.

Please note that Retired characters are their own category and never designated Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary. Depending on whether they have chosen to fully become NPCs or retain autonomy and other factors such as Forced or Chosen Retirement govern how that character may interact and potentially advance within the world. For questions regarding the 3 Active Character Rule or Retired Characters please inquire with the Rules Officer (Gomez) or Player Emissary (Grant Martin).

Thank you, Players & Staff, for your patience and all that you do brighten Mythic Realms and inspire us toward policies for richer, more personalized Plots.

If you feel you have concerns that need to be addressed please email mythicplot@gmail.com or post publicly or contact me or the Player Emissary, Grant Martin as you please.

So if I have one active PC, and one Retired PC, no email is required of me?

Yep! The plot team only needs the email from people with multiple, un-retired PCs. If you just have 1 active PC, then we already know who to write plot for 😆
