Chantell
Participant@emberBriel seems to wake up as she feels something hit her. She lifts her head off the table slowly and glares at Sonya from across the room, her eyes bloodshot. “Do we know where we can find the rest of these family members? We have The Dragon’s Cousin, The Brother Wolf thing, The Daughter Unicow, and Big Daddy Wizard guy. How many are left and how do we get them.”
She moves from the table, gives a small nod to Xukkuth, and sits down again next to Sonya and leans her head on her shoulder. “As for sharing information, it’s not in my nature to do as such. I can tell you that we’re focusing our attention down south and doing some things there to help the war effort. Want more information, go to my boss.” The halfling turns to Sonya with a pitiful look. “Do you have a Wellbeing? This hangover is killing me.”
September 20, 2014 at 1:43 am #50711Zan
Participant@zanSonya snickers when her projectile hits its mark. She however gives the halfling a confused look when she leans her head on her shoulder. She quirks an eyebrow at Briel’s question and answers with
“Depends, is it my families wine you got drunk off of? The barrels you have snitched from the basement?”
September 21, 2014 at 12:40 am #50587Xukkuth d’ Barra
Participant@xukkuthXukkuth will return Briel’s nod with a knowing smirk. Calling upon the power of Infinity, he will quickly channel the power of Wellbeing into her body before returning to add a comment or two to the conversation.
“The illustrious organizations of which I have marginal, and almost certainly hypothetical, ties to would potentially disagree with the concept that everything be communicated and understood at a central hub. For example, I personally believe it would be foolhardy to ensure that my good friend Silmarwen knew who had every Pale weapon, what they all did, and the attributes of each who carried it. After all, if I wanted to know what my enemy knew, my first course of action would be find someone exactly like that in the enemy’s ranks and buy them a drink – laced in the fine liquor of Necrether (or invasive ritual magic, if that’s your thing). Frankly, Silmarwen, I think you’ve been kidnapped and brutally tortured enough for one lifetime.”
Xukkuth will remove a long vellum map from his traveling pack and spread it out of the table in front of him. It appears to be a map of Terath and Lairroth with little Xs marked out at locations where fighting with the Pale Legion has occurred.
“Oh, also, if anyone believes for a second that their ritual defenses against mind invasion or what have you is going to keep your secrets safe in this war, think again. Anyone who gets nabbed by the Pale Legion has the potential to be placed before one of the Xknocktu. If that happens, they will break your mind open like an egg and drink your secrets with the same gusto Briel drinks my family’s wine.”
Xukkuth will begin to scrutinize the map carefully.
“That said, Silmarwen, I believe you are holding my Pale weapon – if I remember correctly it was a skull necklace. Also, Sharock is holding my half of Alabaster Key.”
September 23, 2014 at 5:16 am #50714Zan
Participant@zanSonya stands up with no regard to the halfling leaning on her shoulder and posts a few papers on the board.
“These are visions I have been seeing from the Seer Ring. I have only been sending them to a few people but now that we have a safe place to discuss them…”
I’m in the Ruins of Ku’Vhal and look up into the sky and see Hepsoveur for the first time. I see the white stone dragon statue. Then the vision takes me past the statue and stops in front of one of the powerful barriers that only lets less experienced people pass. I know there is something there that we need. Something from the list from the prophecies.
We retrieved the item from behind the barrier. Orin currently has it in his possession
My second vision was of the First Defender. I saw his body and understood that the First Defender is an entity. The large golem body is no more then a vessel for the entity itself. I saw him creating Ku’Vhal Guardians on the forge. He gave each of them a small amount of his own essence. From what i saw it didn’t weaken him by doing this. It looked to be something similar to that of a warden bond. He’s connected to each of the guardians. I saw him do this over a long amount of time and saw over this time he grew in power.
I was in a great hall with pillars all around. Tall and vast, there were no symbols, runes or any other identifying features. Then suddenly i was outside the keep and was staring at huge double doors. Along the top of the doors were runes, powerful in nature and somehow i know that only certain people may pass by but with a cost. Essence and a large amount of powerful ritual components. Behind the door i know there is something there that will help us destroy the pale ones. As i looked around i knew i was in northern Moradrum beyond the great ice wall. I knew that i was in a dangerous and hard to access place.
You see the members of the Garadetzki Family, standing together to fight against a rising tide of shadows. And you watch as the tide smashes them against one another. All of your family members are weakened and further distracted as they attempt to hold on to one another, refusing to be separated. You watch as they all drown, clinging to one other.
As the vision plays out before you, you hear the following words –
Divided and United. They ride upon the currents of a Dark Tide, rushing along at the edge of a great conflict, glimpsing the horizon of an eclipse of Shadows. And should they falter, what brought life shall bring the end.
Again you see the Garadetzki Family, now separated, yet still desperately attempting to fight against a rising tide of shadows. Nadia and Svetlana fight back to back, hidden among the mountains of Ebrus. The rising tide slows before them. Nikoli & Xukkuth creep down a cobbled street, slowly dropping playing cards from their hands, and the dark tide writhes in confusion. Yuri and Anton fight side by side within the caverns of Haven, and the shadows writhe in pain. You stand alone, wielding your sword and shield as you howl with fury in the face of the a wave of blackness.
In each of these scenes, there are the slightest glimpses of other figures who are also fighting against The Rising Tide, but your skill with Prophecy is not great enough for you to clearly see who they are. You feel, with certainty, that only your Warden Bond causes Xukkuth to be fully visible to you in this vision.
As the vision plays out before you, you hear the following words –
Divided and United. Wanderers, all. Chosen of The Anscestors. In Blood and in Name. Sacrifice. Ghost. Champion. Shade. Eye. Whisper. Hero. Torturer. Of The Forge. Of Grinning Bones. Of Secrets Forgotten. Of Spirits Found. Of Runes Remembered. Of Words Unspoken. They are alone, though they stand amid a crowd. Divided They Must Be.
A voice, just as faint whispers, and you find yourself whispering with it ‘I have seen the Ravens.’
“When i was looking over all the prophecies awhile back i had a vision on someone altering some of them. His hand was white, pale, and the skin was partially see thorough. In a short while he knew i was there and was able to kill me through the vision itself. I think the Pale Ones have altered some of the prophecies we have. Something to take note off…”
Sonya goes back to her seat and pulls out a large handful of papers and starts to look over them.
September 23, 2014 at 6:20 am #50732Valdimarr
Participant@valdimarrValdimarr will jump, as if startled, at Sonya’s last comment.
“Do you mean that the physical copies of the prophecies were altered by hand or that the copies we have were altered through magic? If they were physically altered, I might be able to look at the original copies and find which words were changed! Do we know where the original copies are?!”
September 23, 2014 at 7:36 am #50733Zan
Participant@zanSonya will nod with little reaction and beckon Valdamir over without looking up from her reading.
“I have most of the originals. Yuri has a few but I can get those back quickly if needed.”
She waves her hands over the prophesies on the table in from of her.
“Study them here if you will. I want to keep them all together.”
September 23, 2014 at 8:05 am #50734Valdimarr
Participant@valdimarrValdimarr will leap from his seat and dash towards the prophecies that Sonya gestured toward, and then pause for a brief moment. He will rush back to his seat and snatch up his notebook. With notebook now in hand, he will run back to the prophecies and begin pouring over them, comparing each letter, each sweep of the pen, each dotted I and crossed T to the next.
“Sonya, if you could get the rest of the originals from Yuri, it’d be really helpful.”
September 23, 2014 at 8:21 am #50735Zan
Participant@zanSonya nods slowly as she reads.
“Yuri said he would be here sometime today. He should have them on him or close by.”
September 23, 2014 at 8:40 am #50736Patrick
Participant@grayAs if on que, Yuri saunters into the Inn, a beautifully crafted polearm resting on his shoulder.
“Ask and you shall receive!”
Yuri pulls a sheaf of papers from his bag and lays them before the self-proclaimed hero.
“Any new developments or discoveries?”
September 23, 2014 at 8:52 am #50737Zan
Participant@zanSonya’s attention is finally taken from her reading when she looks up at her twin and smiles
“Not really. I have been running myself ragged looking for this blasted abyssal vampire.”
She looks around the room and asks
“Has anyone heard anything about this vampire or his location? Any contacts that may know about him?”
September 23, 2014 at 9:13 am #50588Xukkuth d’ Barra
Participant@xukkuthAt the mention of the abyssal vampire, Xukkuth will snap out of contemplation. Grinning, he will look at Sonya and answer, “My understanding is that this abyssal vampire – or rather, an abyssal vampire – is being dealt with by acquaintances of mine. However, if I were to pursue any sort of lead connected to any sort of vampire, I would ask, well, a vampire – preferably a vampire lord if you can find one with the right disposition.”
Clearly speaking his mind, Xukkuth will continue, “Sonya, you bring up an interesting point. A pale hand re-writing prophecy speaks volumes. Truly, prophecy possesses a forked tongue. It can mean so many things. With the right twist or a little nurturing, individuals and events can be tailored to fulfill portions of prophecy. Who says the Xknocktu could not retrieve, create, or culture their own weapons to win the war? Weapons eerily similar to those spoken of prophecy, but instead weapons they own which fulfill their prophesied victory instead of our own. Ritual magic can accomplish unspeakable feats with unforeseen consequences. Pale One magik is quite potent, I dare say.”
September 23, 2014 at 10:13 pm #50738Zan
Participant@zanSonya quickly turns her full attention to Xukkuth. She leans forward in her chair and asks,
“Is he named Verastoph? If it is him or his apprentice I would like to know. I believe he is the one who started the fighting in Westerlands. We need to prove it to stop the war between Westerlands, The Argent Tide and the Kingdom of the Night.”
September 24, 2014 at 1:24 am #50589Marley Sage
Participant@jaercKarkarov arrives in the tavern, scowling, all around. The expression wanes amiable to the gypsy twins, but seeking not to interrupt Xukkuth’s reply, turns away, waxing grumpy.
The berserker ambles toward Valdimarr. A murderous posture takes hold and his eyes go flat, dangerous as they glance over the outlayed prophecies and notes with comprehension.
A growl, directed at the hero: “I’d like to hear your”, he makes the word a curse, “perspective, on last weekend’s delve, at least the parts that relate to the Pale Campaign.

Participant@valdimarrValdimarr will speak without looking up from his work.
“I was only there for the first half of the trip to Ku’Vahl, but we made some good strides to restoring the Ku’Vahl guardian, which will be integral in our success in the war. Is that the weekend’s events you were talking about?”
September 24, 2014 at 2:56 am #50744herogoeth
Keymaster@herogoethLanre will lean forward, stepping away from the table while quickly shooting a brief glance towards Silmarwen, and the members of the Garadetzky family. “What else happened in Kuh Vall, you ask? Well, the only thing worth really talking about is that we were successful in reclaiming the DragonFrost’s Breach artifact. So now we have both Artifacts, on top of having restored a handful of the Kvu’Ahl Golems and retrieving two large pieces of the First Guardian. Those are really the most noteworthy points. There’s not much else to report.”
As the Map Maker’s apprentice speaks, he does so in a rushed manner, as if trying to get it all out at once. “Oh, and it appears that Sir Veracyte sent undead soliders into Dragon’s End to trash the place. Although we can’t be one hundred percent certain. I’m afraid none of those who were present are skilled at tracking. I wish Nikoli or Xukkuth had been with us. A scout’s eyes would have been invaluable.”
Lanre appears to reconsider his words, glancing over at Xukkuth nervously. “Not to say that we don’t appreciate everything you’ve been doing for the war effort, Xukkuth. I know you are out and about doing all sorts of important things. In fact, it’s probably best that you didn’t trouble yourself… You’d have been furious when Sir Veracyte’s ghouls laid claim over a treasure vault that was given to us by the Golems of Kuh’Vahl.”
The would-be Bard shakes his head softly. “They threatened to attack Westerland if we dared to take the vault from them. In the end, we decided to let them rob us rather than risk an escalation against The Kingdom of The Night.”
September 24, 2014 at 11:41 pm #50745herogoeth
Keymaster@herogoethA messenger will come to the door of the tavern, and briefly confer with Dame Silmwarwen Earfalas. The messenger will then post the following letter to the wall of the tavern, and hastily leave without a word.
Adventurers of Northwatch,
The Terathian Vigil has recently had the opportunity to meet with some of the greatest military minds in Terath. As you all know, we have placed great trust in you, and we want you to be as prepared as possible for the struggles to come. As such, we have compiled information about troop movements and fortifications. Some of this information was gathered by your teams, and some of it was given to The Terathian Vigil by our allies. Even so, much of this is out of date, representing affairs as they stood during the gathering at the beginning of September. Power has shifted already in many places. Weeks have passed and many small battles have been fought.
Fighting in the East and especially in the South has been hard during these last few weeks. You can expect to receive a new report soon, detailing the changes in the Pale Campaign, and providing you with a fresh look at the state of the war.
Legend –
Green Zones: Areas which could potentially be attacked by The Pale Legion, but which are firmly within the control of Terath’s United Forces and as such are currently under no direct threat. These regions are very well protected, and are not under any active risk of immediate loss to the enemy, generally speaking.Yellow Zones: Areas which are thinly protected or mostly controlled by Terath’s Unified Forces, but are not well fortified or defended. These regions risk being targeted and lost to the Pale Legion. Skirmishes may occasionally occur in these territories, but military leaders do not consider these to be active conflict zones.
Orange Zones: Areas of active conflict where Pale Legion forces are currently attempting to claim control. Pale Legion encampments and troops movements persist regularly within these areas. Small battles between the Pale Legion and Terath’s Unified Forces are happening constantly here.
Red Zones: Areas which are firmly within the control of The Pale Legion. Enemy forces within these areas are well fortified, and greatly outnumber any local Terathian forces which might attempt to seize control. Note: There are also three red zones which are currently blanketed in red fog. These regions are the primary bases of operation for the Pale Legion. They are so well fortified that there is currently no avenue of attack traditional military action which would allow them to be retaken.
