Hey lovely folks, first off, thank you to those who came out last night, second, here are the plans for setup this upcoming weekender (the July weekender) and a map. I believe this covers most the larger setups, and people who came to setup yesterday did get to contribute to the setup plans as they worked really hard to clear it out and make trails and the like. The Map has a Key, but I’ll elaborate here. I also will add some pictures (as replies as the website limits images per post) so you can hopefully recognize areas if you somehow beat everyone who was up there yesterday and know the basic layout.

(this applies to the attached Campsite Map file)
1 – Ward Trailer – This is the large trailer in the middle of the campsite that the land owners have claimed
2 – Bathroom – This is a build bathroom with plumbing. It shouldn’t be abused though as we don’t know the capacity of the septic system it is attached to. Preferred #1 only.
    – Note: we should also be bringing up a Porti-Potti that will be placed in front of the bathroom
3 – Wood Shed – We’ll likely be locking trash in here for at night, and people should be warned to be careful with food as there are lots of squirrels, and 2 bears that live in the general area
4 – Baby Cage – This is a camper that we’ve decided to let parents use when they need to put their kids somewhere easy to watch. There is a bathroom in it but we ask that nothing be flushed down the toilet please. Also, it is right by where the Dreamers should set up as there are a couple parents in that group, so it can be roped into that building if desired
5 – Healer’s Guild – it’s a small trailer with room in front for a pavilion with a circle of life. It’s been decided to be the Healer’s Guild building as it is one of the few buildings housing only one person and it only has one bed and is quite small.
6 – Tavern Trailer – This is where we are going to put first aid stuff for when people need that. During the day it can also be used as a safe spot, but at night it will likely house those running the tavern and/or their kids
7 – Pirate Gambling hall – although not in the center of town this location is prime with great shade and a very level area (I think it was leveled for a cabin that never got built). This area is on the boarders of the Ward’s land but the owners (who are selling it) are ok with it being used, but please leave it in better condition than it started
8 – Open Flat Space – this would be a great parking lot if it was a little more accessible, as it is it would make a great spot for tents but is on the edge of town.
9 – Open Flat Space – There is a nice unassigned area next to the fire pit for a smaller setup, just make sure there is room for vehicles to get past
10 – Firepit – there is a nice fire pit with benches around it, fire-safety needs to be observed but it is usable and a great place for gathering
11 – Open Flat Space – across from the fire pit, in front of the large trailer and bathroom is a nice flat spot, this one isn’t ideal but can be used if needed and if the bathroom/trailer/road aren’t blocked and room is made for the porti-potti
12 – Hall of the Dark Star – This area is a bit sloped, and is claimed for the Dark Star, but as we’re all NPCing or playing other characters for at least the majority of the July Weekender others may use it this weekender
13 – Dreamers – Look for the Teatherball post, its a little slopey but cleared as road. We are going to close of the lower road and make it tent area so this will be where the Dreamers go. You also get to be attached to/ use the trailer as long as you let other parents borrow it for toddlers as needed.
14 – Tavern – This location is reserved for the Tavern.
15 – Open area – Claimed by Grant and K2 Creations, right outside the Tavern
16 – Circle of Life Pavilion – a 10 x 10 area in front of the Healer’s Guild is reserved for a pavilion unless we don’t want a Circle of Life
17 – Good Night Inn – this is a lower area claimed by the Good Night Inn, there are some paths connected to it that shouldn’t be blocked

    I’ll also be

We are looking to maybe flatten more of it out, but haven’t gotten a backhoe up there yet. Thank you for your understanding and willingness to work with us.

…bears? You see them while you were up there?

No, they live on the mountain in general, somewhere, none of us have seen them. Honestly there was/is the same level of Bear danger in Middle Canyon. Just should be careful with food, the squirrels are the real danger 😉

Was more concerned that you knew the number of bears. Thought maybe you saw them in the area. Thanks

Looks great! If we sleep in a van and camp right next to it like we’ve done for most of the other weekenders, is there a place we can park and still do that at this spot?

    Thanks,

    Rick

Having a van in the middle of “town” might be frowned at, but there should be some spots not too far you can set up. Although there is really only the one fire-pit. I think this is one we’ll have to see about when you get up there.

I have a collapsible, above ground fire pit I can bring. Would that be okay?

Also, I live fairly close to the site. Is there anything I can do to help over the next few days?

    Thanks,

As far as the fire pit goes *shrug* no idea

As far as things that could be done at the site, the plant-life, mainly that growing on/over the roads, could still use more weed whacking/trimming. Other than that we hit the point were we either need a bunch of shovels and people and/or a backhoe.
